Heather began her journey in 1992 by means of self development, her initial interests being energy, natural healing and crystal healing.
Heather spent years attending groups, seminars, lectures and classes at locations throughout the UK, practicing the variety of techniques and approaches to this diverse subject and gaining a vast ammount of experience.
After a series of life changing experiences and a great deal of self discovery Heather wanted to develop herself Professionally and trained at the Northern School of Aromatherapy, an ISPA accredited school, and passed her theoretical examinations in Anatomy, Physiology and Aromatherapy, along with a practical examination in Massage, gaining qualification in Holistic Clinical Aromatherapy.
Heather interrupted her Aromatherapy studies briefly to take 1st degree Reiki, and was so committed that she took 2nd degree soon after. Heather then focused on developing herself further, to a high standard before progressing onto the next level, and has now achieved Reiki Master Teacher degree.
Heather was accredited for her work and development in Healing practices over the past years, and was accepted as a full practicing Healer by the World Federation of Healing , Heather also achieved Complementary Therapist status via the WFH for her work in Aromatherapy, Reiki and other healing modalities.
Heather went on to gain a qualification in Crystal Healing, studying a two year Diploma course via the Spiritual Venturers Association, based at the Natural Healing Center in Goole. Heather initially worked licentiate after completing practical examination and thesis, then continued to complete her two years of study.
Whilst focusing on Heathers initial passion, Crystals, this period of training encompassed every aspect of all Healing therapies, and so provided a firm foundation for the whole of Heathers teachings.
Heather completed a Diploma in Nutritional Therapy and integrates this knowledge into the consultation process required before treatment and in her commitment to treat the whole person looked towards Chinese Medicine to complete her repertoire.
Heather studied Oriental Body Balance with Dr John Brazier and Acupuncture at the College of Oriental Body Balance in Lytham St Annes, Completing further examinations in Anatomy and Physiology, Chinese medical theory and practical application. Heather is a full member of the British Register of Complementary Practitioners, Oriental Medicine Division.
Heather has traveled to China to gain clinical experience in Hospitals in Beijing and Tianjin and completed numerous courses in Chiang Mai Thailand including Nerve touch Thai massage, Thai foot massage and Thai herbs.
Heathers wide range of skills and experience enable her to effectively treat injuries, structural, organ, energy and emotional imbalances and provide complementary diagnosis through Chinese Medicine and western techniques.
Whilst practicing as a multi disciplinary Complementary Therapist, Heather soon recognised the true potential of these combined skills, Aromatherapy, Energy therapies, Oriental Body Balance, Chinese Medicine and provides treatments catered to the needs of the individual, focusing on the whole being, and so supporting and balancing at all levels of Body, Mind and Spirit.
Heather has given talks on various aspects of Complementary Therapy to groups and institutions including the NHS, Heather has appeared on television, Sky Living “Star Treatment” and has featured in local and regional press on numerous occasions.
Heather won the Marguerite Maury, AC National Aromatherapist of the year award, which she received in London 25th October 2004.
Heather is continually studying and reviewing new skills and areas of practice and runs a busy Private Practice, Heather Dawn Elemental Health, from her Clinic in Moorthorpe. Heather also attends the local Hospice, where she works as a valued member of the multi disciplinary team along side Doctors, Nurses, Consultant and other Health Care Professionals, providing a Holistic approach to Complete Patient care.
